Marissa Pullo

Marissa Pullo was hired as the Golden Eagle softball coach in September 2022. She enters her third season at the helm in 2024.

Clarion went 15-31 in 2024, including a 10-20 record in PSAC West action that represented a two-game improvement from the season before. Rachel Helsley had the best season of her college career en route to earning Second Team All-PSAC West honors as an outfielder, setting career-highs across the board and posting one of the best offensive seasons in program history. The senior outfielder set new standards with a slash line of .349/.408/.603, giving her a team-best OPS of 1.011. Her slugging percentage of .603 ranks fifth for a single season in program history.

In Pullo's first season as the program's head coach, the Golden Eagles posted the second-highest wins total in program history, winning 17 games; that represented a 12-win improvement from the year before. The year included a six-game win streak at The Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. as well as a thrilling 19-15 victory over West Virginia State on Feb. 25. Pullo earned her first win as the Golden Eagles' head coach on Feb. 17, a 13-4 five-inning road win over USC Aiken. Carissa Giordano earned First Team All-PSAC West honors in the outfield, while Alyssa Stitt was voted a Second Team All-PSAC West pick in the outfield.

Pullo came to Clarion after successful stints as the head coach at SUNY Erie Community College (2019-22) and with 716 Select Travel Softball (2016-22). In 2022, Pullo led SUNY Erie C.C. to a 19-16 overall record, with the Kats showing strong offensive prowess over the course of the season. They scored 243 runs in their 35 games, an average of 6.9 runs per game, while .342 as a team with 61 doubles, 10 triples and 17 home runs. Catcher Julia Kilonsky earned Second Team All-NJCAA Region 3 status after hitting .330 with eight home runs, 11 doubles and 34 RBIs.

Pullo came to Clarion with experience in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), having been an all-conference player at Edinboro in her college career. Playing for the Fighting Scots from 2009-13, she was voted the 2010 PSAC West Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-PSAC West after hitting .484 with 11 RBIs in her first year of collegiate competition. Pullo ended up being a four-time all-conference selection for the Fighting Scots, making her just the second player in program history to earn four straight all-conference honors and the first position player to do so. She was also honored as the NFCA Atlantic Region’s top utility non-pitcher in 2013, making her the first Fighting Scot to earn all-region honors in five years.

Pullo graduated from Edinboro in 2014 with a degree in Health and Physical Education.
