Justin English

Justin English, an experienced coach and recruiter, is in his fourth season as Clarion's top assistant.

"Justin brings a wealth of knowledge in both coach and recruiting to our program," Clarion head coach "Gie" Parsons said. "We are lucky to have somebody of Justin's caliber who also has strong ties to the university as our assistant coach."

English, the son of former Clarion track and cross country coach Bill English, was the interim head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for two seasons (2004-2005) after serving as the assistant coach at IUP in 2002 and 2003. He was a G.A. coach for Clarion's women's team in 2001 and was the men's G.A. in 1998.

At IUP, English, who was named interim head coach in July 2003, led the Indians to a 14-12 mark in 2004 while playing a key role in recruiting a portion of IUP's back-to-back PSAC Championship teams in 2007 and 2008 that both qualified for the NCAA D-II championship. He had a two-year mark of 23-30 at IUP.

Named the assistant coach at IUP prior to the 2002 season, Justin helped guide the Indians to a 19-9 record and the PSAC semifinals in 2003.

English earned his MBA from Clarion in 2001 after graduating from York College of Pennsylvania in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/Business Education. He started his post-secondary education at Clarion before transferring to York, where he was member of the Spartans' 1995 regular-season Capital Athletic Conference championship men's basketball team that qualified for the NCAA playoffs for the first time in school history.

A 1991 graduate of nearby North Clarion High School, English played baseball and basketball for the Wolves.

Justin and his wife Beth reside in Shippenville with their four children, Grace (11), J.T. (8), Paige (3), Bryce (21 months).
