(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's
Kaitlyn Johnson (Sr. Uniontown), Morgan Oberlander (So. York/Dallastown),
Gina Mattucci (Sr. Jeannette) and
Kayla Kelosky (Sr. Ellwood City/Riverside) were double winners in individual events leading the Golden Eagle Women's Swimming team to a 161-137 dual meet win over Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.
Johnson won the 100 yard butterfly (57.34) and 200 freestyle (1:55.84), while Oberlander took the 500 yard freestyle (5:15.18) and the 200 butterfly (2:08.15).
Mattucci meanwhile won the 50 free (24.70) and the 100 free (54.51).
Kelosky won both diving events. She took the 1 meter board with 237.82 points and the 3 meter event with 236.24 points.
Also posting winning performances were
Kelly Connolly (Sr. Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) and Madison Sewell (So. Walled Lake, Mi.).
Connolly won the 100 breaststroke (1:08.11) and Sewell took the 200 breaststroke (2:28.30).
Clarion also won two relays – including the 200 medley and 200 free relays (
Kayla Shull, Connolly, Johnson, Mattucci).
The win raises Clarion's dual meet record to 2-0 on the year. The Golden Eagles, under 11th year head coach Mark Van Dyke, travels to Shippensburg next Saturday.
