CLARION – The Clarion University men's basketball team will hold its home opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday when it entertains Central Penn.
The Golden Eagles are 1-0 after a season-opening 86-70 win at Holy Family Saturday, while Central Penn, which is out of Harrisburg, is 5-2.
Clarion used a balanced effort to beat Holy Family, as 23
rd year head coach
Ron Righter had six players score in double digits led by 15 points from junior forward
Paul McQueen and a double-double by freshman
Mike Kromka (10 points, 12 rebounds). Bud Teer also had 13 rebounds while scoring eight points for the Golden Eagles.
Central Penn is coached by former Righter assistant coach Dave Baker. The Tigers have wins over Davis, Penn College, Luzerne, Penn State-York and Johnson College and have lost to Stevens Tech and LaRoche. They follow up the trip to Clarion with a trip to NCAA Division I VMI Monday.
Clarion also returns to action Monday on the road at University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
