JAMAR HARRISON CAREER HIGH LEADS CLARION PAST THIEL

Box Score
CLARION – Jamar Harrison scored a career-high 26 points while adding his second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds to help lead the Clarion University men's basketball team to its seventh straight win thanks to a 91-62 victory over visiting Thiel Thursday afternoon at Tippin Gym.

Point guard Lloyd Harrison added 21 points, five steals, five rebounds, four assists and a blocked shot and was a key player in helping Clarion to a 47-23 halftime lead scoring 16 of his points while recording all his steals and assists in the opening 20 minutes before playing just a portion of the second half with Clarion well in control of the game.

The Golden Eagles (7-0) used a 19-5 run midway through the first half to take any suspense out of a game against a solid NCAA Division III opponent who took Edinboro down to the wire before losing earlier in the season.

The run, which was fueled by six points apiece from Jamar Harrison, Lloyd Harrison and Paul McQueen with Lloyd Harrison adding three assists, helped Clarion take a 29-12 lead with 8:15 left in the opening half.

The Golden Eagles then closed the half with a 16-5 run with Lloyd Harrison scoring eight of the 16 points, to take the 24-point halftime lead.

Thiel (6-4) cut the lead to 18, 51-33, less than four minutes into the second half before Clarion put the game away with a 28-8 spurt that put the lead at 38, 79-41, with 6:17 to play.

Bud Teer contributed his third double-double of the year, with all three coming in his last three games, with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Brandon Winbush had a season-best 10 points off the bench helping the Golden Eagle bench score 27 points.

Blair Rozenblad led Thiel with 26 points including 9 of 10 from the free-throw line and 8 of 15 from the floor while adding eight rebounds. Aundra Jones chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds and Lance Randall 10 points.
