HARRISONS LEAD CLARION PAST MICH.-DEARBORN

Clarion – Lloyd and Jamar Harrison combined for 45 points, 13 assists and five steals to lead the Clarion University men's basketball team to a 92-67 win over visiting Michigan-Dearborn Monday night at Tippin Gym.
 
Jamar Harrison scored a game-high 24 points on 9 of 13 shooting while adding five assists and four steals with Lloyd Harrison chipping in 21 points, eight assists and a steal while shooting 7 of 10 from the floor including 2 of 2 from three-point land.
 
Ten of Lloyd Harrison's points and six of Jamar Harrison's came during a 25-8 run in the first half that allowed the Golden Eagles (4-0) to take a 45-25 halftime lead.
 
Clarion then started the second half with a 14-4 run and cruised from there never allowing the lead to slip under 19 points.
 
Paul McQueen, who earlier in the day was named the PSAC-West Player of the Week, chipped in his second double-double in two home games with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Bud Teer added eight points and 10 rebounds. Mike Sherry contributed nine points on three three-pointers.
 
Doug Sharples led Michigan-Dearborn (3-9) with 19 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two helpers. Jordan Redditt had a team-high 20 points, and Nicholas Packwood contributed 17 points and nine rebounds.
 
Clarion returns to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts Pitt-Johnstown in a big non-conference game.
 
NOTES – Clarion head coach Ron Righter improved to 140-36 at home against non-conference foes … Clarion has won 15 of its last 18 against non-PSAC-West teams at home and has now won six straight games over non-PSAC schools at home … Lloyd Harrison has 33 assists in four games … Clarion will play its 550th home game at Tippin Gym Saturday when it hosts Penn College at 3 p.m. The first-ever game at Tippin was Dec. 4, 1968, an 85-79 win over Walsh … Clarion is 4-0 for the first time since starting 4-0 in 2003 … Clarion will be looking for its first 5-0 start since starting 11-0 in 1992 … McQueen now has two double-doubles this season and has five in his career … Clarion had five dunks in the game including three by Jamar Harrison and two by Mike Kromka.
