FINAL RESULTS

            (Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's Joseph Ward (Sr. Johnstown /Westmont Hilltop), Scott Harvey (Jr. Macungie/Emmaus) and Derek Nelson (Jr. Mount Joy/Donegal) were double winners on Saturday leading the Golden Eagles to a 202.5 – 125.5 win over Grove City in men's swimming. Held at W.S. Tippin Natatorium, the event was the season opener for Clarion.
 
            Ward won the 50 freestyle (22.07) and the 100 freestyle (48.54), while Harvey took top honors in the 1650 (17:41.37) and the 500 freestyles (5:05.34). Nelson won the 100 (59.44) and 200 yard breaststroke (2:15.01) events.
 
            Also posting individual event wins for the Golden Eagles were James Robichaud (So. Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), Royce Tipper (Jr. Coraopolis/Cornell), Travis Myers (Fr. Butler) and Matt Jones (Fr. Carmel, Ca.).
 
            Robichaud won the 400 IM (4:34.60), Tipper the 100 butterfly (53.82), Myers the 100 backstroke (57.32) and Jones the 200 fly (2:06.40).
 
            The 200 medley relay team of Myers, Matt Bojalad (Sr. Dubois), Joe Welch (Sr. Erie/Strong Vincent) and Ward won their race with a time of 1:37.67.
 
            The Golden Eagles are back in action on November 3 when they travel to Carnegie Mellon.
