Box Score CLARION LOSES 33 – 12 TO WEST CHESTER IN SEASON FINALE

                (Clarion, Pa.):West Chester running back Rondell White rushed for 227 yards and 1 td in leading the Golden Rams to a 33-12 win over Clarion on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in the season finale for both teams.

                Clarion finished the season with a 4-7 overall record, while West Chester ended with a 7-4 mark.

                Clarion qb Ben Fiscus (Jr. Indiana) passed for 184 yards and 1 td, plus rushed for 42 yards to lead the Clarion offense on Saturday.

                West Chester jumped out to a 6-0 lead on field goals of 40 and 32 yards by Shawn Leo in the first and  second quarters .Early in the second quarter the Rams drove 61-yards in 8 plays to take a 13-0 lead. QB Mike Mattei hit Erick Brundidge on a 26-yard td pass with 7:58 left in the second quarter.

                The Rams made it 20-0 before intermission when White scored on an 11-yard run to cap a 32-yard drive. The Rams forced Clarion tight end Anthony Becaote to fumble and Carl Barnes recovered at the Eagle 32 setting up the score.

                West Chester's Leo kicked two more field goals, one from  45 and the other from 36 to take a 26-0 lead in the fourth quarter.

                Clarion's first score came late in the fourth quarter when Fiscus hit freshman wideout Nick Perry on an out pattern, made the corner back miss, and sprinted down the left sideline 64-yards for the td. Clarion tried a two-point conversion run that failed and left the score at 26-6 with 5:41 remaining.

                West Chester's Brandon Monk scored on a six yard run at 3:17 for a 33-6 lead, then clarion mounted its final drive.

                Backup qb Ken Johnson (Sr. Pgh/Schenley) drove the Eagles 79-yards in 11 plays. On second and 10 at the West Chester 33, Johnson rolled left and found Anthony Becoate (Sr. McKeesport)  alone at the 10 yard line, he caught the pass and ran into the endzone for the Clarion td. The PAT failed and the final score was West Chester 33 Clarion 12.

                Clarion had 348 yards of offense including 100 rushing and 248 passing. Fiscus hit on 16 of 33 passes for 184 yards and 1 td. Tight end Rob Irwin (Sr. Bellefonte) caught 6 passes for 53 yards, while Perry grabbed 4 for 80 and 1 td.

                Clarion linebacker Brian Palmiere (So. Tarentum/Deer Lakes) led the team with 12 tackles and 2 tfl's, with Jacob Heintz (So. Gibsonia/Pine-Richland) getting 10 stops, 2 tfl's and 1 sack, with Julian Howsare (So. Altoona) notching 7 stops, 1 sack, 1 fumb1e caused and 1 broken-up pass.

                West Chester had 450 yards of offense including 248 rushing and 202 passing. Mattei completed 19 of 33 passes for 202 yards and 1 td. Jim Kelly caught 10 passes for 77 yards. White meanwhile rushed for 227 and caught 3 passes for 27 yards.

Huntingdon – Norwin), Anthony Stimac (CB/E. Brady/Karns City), A.J. Vercelli (OL/Gibsonia – Pine-Richland) and Ryan Wolfe (TE/Delmont-Greensburg-Salem)…. Becoate ended his career with 56 catches for 657 yards and 9 td's … Sipes, in two seasons had 145 tackles, 5 tfl's, 1 sack, 3 fumbles caused, 2 break-ups… Paronish 167 tackles, 5 int's, 4 break-ups, 3 fumbles caused and recovered and 2 tfl's … Stimac 134 hits, 6 break-ups, 3 int's, 2 tfl's…. Ben Fiscus finished the season with 678 rushing yards on 152 carries with 5 rushing td's … He has 1,9997 career rushing yards as a junior and 16 td's … He also has completed 362 of 716 passes for 4,341 yards and 27 td's… In clarion career stats he ranks 9^th in career rushing, 4^th in pass attempts, 4^th in completions, 9^th in passing yards, 11^th in td passes … John Reid, also a junior, has 76 career catches for 1,130 yards and 4 td's … Julian howsare finished the year with 14 sacks and 16 tfl's… He was #2 in the PSAC and #5 in the nation going into today's game.
