CLARION-The Clarion women's volleyball team stayed perfect in the Tony Banner Invitational beating Fairmont State 3-1 Saturday night at Tippin Gymnasium.

The Golden Eagles (6-2) won the first two sets 27-25, and 25-14, before dropping the third set 25-27. It was the fourth set again where Clarion finished off their opponent winning 25-21.

Laura Subject was brilliant with six kills, 12 digs, and 49 assists. Amber Litwiler tied the team high with 13 kills and added 14 digs. Hannah Heeter, and Rebecca Webb combined for 25 kills, 13, and 12, while Rebecca Ferragonia led the team with 18 digs.

The All-Tournament team for the Tony Banner Invitational included Rebecca Webb, and Laura Subject from Clarion. Blair Hevron and Kervelle Redhead from American International. From Slippery Rock, Sarah Cadwallader, and Hannah McShea. Sheperd, Sara Michael, and Kasey Mercier. Fairmont State, Tiffany Smathers and Bri Swann. From Roberts Wesleyan, Maggie Concannon.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action Friday, September 14, for the PSAC/WVIAC Crossover at IUP. Clarion will play the University of Charleston at 5 p.m.
