Box Score CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion University men's basketball team honored four seniors prior to its game vs. California Wednesday, but the visiting Vulcans rained on Clarion's celebration knocking off the Golden Eagles 82-58 in the season finale for Clarion.

Calvin Edwards,
Leonard Patterson,
David Colbert and
Drew Vandermeer, and all four seniors reached the scoreboard with Edwards scoring 10 points including going 5 of 7 from the free-throw line and adding two steals, Patterson chipping in seven points, five rebounds, three steals, a block and an assist, Vandermeer nailing a three-pointer for three tallies and Colbert scoring two points to go with two rebounds.
Patterson's efforts concluded a solid senior season for the three-year player that saw him average a career-best 9.2 ppg while adding 4.0 rpg and handing out 54 assists while coming away with a team-leading 42 steals. Edwards finished the year averaging 8.5 ppg and had a two-year career that saw him score 588 points and hit the 14
th most three-pointers in school history with 91. Colbert was a valuable four-year contributor for Clarion who was on the 2010 PSAC semifinal team that finished second in the PSAC West, while Vandermeer, from Clarion High, transferred to the Golden Eagles from Grove City before last season and provided plenty of energy and enthusiasm off the bench. He also plays baseball for Clarion.
Mike Kromka led Clarion with 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench while shooting 5 of 6. He also blocked a career-high four shots with two swats in each half. The four blocks tie for the 12
th most in a game in modern school history (1980 forward).
Kromka's efforts completed a solid season for the junior who finished as the team leader in scoring (12.5 ppg), rebounding (8.5 rpg) and blocked shots 17.
Sophomore
Marques Jones ended his first season with Clarion with four points and two assists and ended up second on the team in scoring at 10.3 ppg while dishing out a team-high 58 assists. He had the memorable game vs. Mercyhurst Feb. 13 when he exploded for 26 points while hitting eight three-pointers, one shy of the school record, in a 78-51 Golden Eagle win. He also had 18 straight Clarion points in a loss at Mercyhurst in January.
California, though, used a hot-shooting first half to take a 44-28 halftime lead and never saw that lead dip below 13 points in the second half.
Keith Lowe led the Vulcans with 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Quentin Harding also had 17 points to go with four rebounds. Chris Williams chipped in 12 points and seven boards with Jake Jacubec adding 11 points, six rebounds and three helpers.
