VOLLEYBALL ROLLS TO NINTH STRAIGHT WIN WITH 3-0 WIN OVER SETON HILL

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Behind 17 kills and seven digs from senior Carlie Bieranowski, the Clarion University women's volleyball team picked up its ninth straight victory with a 3-0 win at Seton Hill Saturday afternoon.

Bieranowski had a strong all-around match and hit .333 (17 kills, 4 errors, 39 attempts) for the Golden Eagles, who remain in first place in the PSAC West with a 25-2 overall mark and a 16-1 conference record. The victory, which came by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-15, gives Clarion a three-game lead on both Seton Hill and California (Pa.) for a home PSAC playoff match with five regular-season matches left. The Golden Eagles also hold a one-game advantage on second-place Gannon in their quest for a second straight
PSAC West title and their third PSAC West title since 2010.

Freshman middle hitter Gabrielle Olson added 10 kills, three digs and two blocks while hitting .360 (10-1-25), as Clarion hit .271 (52-14-140) for the match.

Also for the Golden Eagles, Catherine Ferragonio added nine kills and 10 digs, while Abbey Cox had seven kills and hit .457 (7-0-15) while adding three blocks and three aces.

Senior setter Laura Subject was again strong in running the offense with 44 set assists to go with eight digs and a pair of kills, and Morgan Seybold had 21 digs.

Corrine Gahagen led Seton Hill (24-4, 13-4), which lost to Clarion for the second time in as many matches this season, with 14 kills. Cassie Hausfed added 11 kills and nine digs, while Courtney Field had 28 set assists, seven digs and five kills. Lauren Teed had 18 digs.
