GOLDEN EAGLES ATHLETES SUPPORTING WORTHY CAUSES NEXT TWO WEEKENDS

CLARION, Pa. – Clarion University student-athletes will be raising money for two worthy causes over the next two weekends at wrestling matches and basketball games at Tippin Gym.

The women's basketball team's THINK PINK will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, when the Golden Eagles host California (Pa.) in a PSAC West game starting at 5:30 p.m.

The annual Pink Out Celebration supports The Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital. The highlight of the Pink Out will be the honoring of breast cancer survivors at halftime of the game. The team will also be raising money to donate to The Cancer Center through a variety of activities including donations – anyone who donates is eligible to win various basket prizes – the selling of t-shirts that will allow the wearer to "Be Pink and Be Proud" and a 50/50 raffle that will be conducted during the Golden Eagles NCAA Division I wrestling match with Oklahoma St. that starts at 1 p.m. Saturday.

In addition, the American Cancer Society will also have an information table set up during both the women's game and men's game against California (Pa.).

Meanwhile, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be selling Stars to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation this weekend and next. The Stars, which cost $1 will be on sale during the Oklahoma St. wrestling match Saturday (1 p.m.) as well as the men's and women's basketball games against Mercyhurst Sunday Feb. 23 (1 p.m. and 3 p.m.).
