LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Clarion Golden Eagles women's soccer club fell Saturday night 2-1 in the first sudden death overtime at Lock Haven.

Jamie Hunter was awarded a penalty kick after being fouled hard in the box in the overtime period. She broke through a Clarion hole which helped her in drawing the penalty. Hunter put the ball in the back of the net past
Laura Saussol to get her second of the game and end the game dropping the Golden Eagles to 1-1-0 in the early stages of the 2014 campaign

Lightning struck quickly after a 50 minute lightning delay was called off with Lock Haven up a goal. Once the teams were back on the field
Taylor Starr put a lightning speed shot past Lock Haven goal keeper Michelle Cuomo in the 29th minute of the game. This was Starr's first collegiate goal of her career.

Before the delay the Bald Eagles of Lock Haven grabbed the first goal in the 19th on Jamie Hunters first goal of the season.

 The second half of the game went scoreless as the two sides played equally on the field leading to overtime.

In overtime
McKenzie Sheesley quickly took a shot on goal which was stopped by Cuomo. This would be the final Clarion shot on goal in the game.

Laura Saussol finished with 2 saves on 4 shots on goal. Sheesley and
Maddie Meyers led the Eagles with 2 shots on goal. Starr and
Casey Harsch each had one.

The Golden Eagles return to the pitch on Wednesday when they travel to Greensburg, Pa to take on the Seton Hill Griffins soccer club for a 4pm matchup.
