Basketball (Men's) | 1/2/2015 4:57:00 PM

CLARION, Pa. - Having been off since a loss at West Chester Dec. 20, the Clarion University men's basketball team gets back in action with a pair of games this weekend.

The Golden Eagles are at Cheyney at 3 p.m. Saturday and then hop over to Millersville for a 3 p.m. game Sunday.

Clarion (4-5 overall, 2-4 PSAC West) has dropped two straight after an 86-76 win over Bloomsburg Dec. 16 but needs just one more win to match last year's total.

The Golden Eagles are led by a full-court pressure defense that is averaging a PSAC-leading 13.67 steals per game, the fourth-most steals in NCAA Division II. Clarion opponents are turning the ball over at a pace of 22.2 a game, and the Golden Eagles rank third in the PSAC in turnover margin at a plus-3.56.

Leading the defense is junior Kyheim Hall, who leads the PSAC and ranks fourth in the nation in steals per game with 3.3. Sophomore BJ Andrews is fifth in the conference in steals averaging 2.2 per contest.

On offense, Clarion nearly 72 points per game and is led by Darius Stevens' 13.1 points per contest. Stevens adds 6.9 rebounds per game. Hall, meanwhile, chips in with 11.4 points per game and a team-best 7.2 rebounds per contest, and Andrews adds 10.4 points per game.

Cheyney is 1-10 on the year and 0-6 in the PSAC East and has dropped nine straight. The Wolves are paced by Kevin Larkin's 18.1 points per game, the third-best mark in the PSAC.

Millersville enters its game Saturday with Gannon at 5-7 overall and 2-5 in the PSAC East. The Marauders broke a three-game losing streak with a win over Mercyhurst Dec. 20 and are led by Kelvin Parker's 14.0 points per game and Eddie Callender's 13.7.

After Sunday, Clarion returns home to face Shippensburg at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
