CLARION, Pa. –
Delrika Jones-Carey recorded her third double-double in four games, but it wasn't enough for Clarion to overcome a cold night from the field in a 65-40 loss to visiting Shippensburg Wednesday night.
Jones-Carey had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (1-13 overall, 0-9 PSAC West) while also adding two assists, but she accounted for seven of Clarion's 18 made baskets on the night. The Golden Eagles shot 25.4 percent (18 of 71) from the floor in the game including 2 of 12 from beyond the arc.
Shippensburg, which led 35-20 at halftime, got a game-high 23 points from Stephanie Knauer, who scored her 1,000
th career point with about five minutes to play and finished the night with 1,002 career tallies. Knauer added five rebounds, and assist and a blocked shot. Logan Snyder added 11 points for the Red Raiders (8-7, 4-4 PSAC East), while Lauren Gold had nine points and 14 rebounds.

Jen Straw each added six points for Clarion with Straw also grabbing six rebounds and blocking three shots.
Shippensburg took control of the game from the outset using an 18-4 run in the contest's first 10 minutes, and Clarion was never closer than nine, 25-16, the remainder of the half.
The Raiders then used a 9-2 run just prior to the midway point of the second half to build the lead to 20, 46-26, and Shippensburg got the lead to as many as 27, 62-35, late in the contest.
