CLARION WOMEN'S SWIMMERS DEFEAT GROVE CITY 163-145 (CLARION, PA.): Clarion senior
Gabriella Schaffer (Reading/Muhlenberg) was a triple winner, senior diver
Sarah Zerfoss (Shavertown/Dallas) and sophomore
Alexis Lopez (Beaver Falls/Blackhawk) were double winners on Saturday as the Golden Eagles opened the 2015-16 swimming and diving season with a 163-145 win over Grove City at Waldo S Tippin Natatorium.
Gabriella Schaffer won three events on the day including her specialties, the 100 backstroke (58.66), 200 backstroke (2:08.60) and the 100 100 butterfly (1:01.45).
Teammate
Alexis Lopez won the 50 yard freestyle (25.72) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.14), plus 2
nd in the 200 IM (2:18.47) to help lead the way.

The 200 medley relay team of Schaffer, Gore, Ondrizek and Kelsie Burke also were winners.
Diver
Sarah Zerfoss won both 1 meter and 3 meter competitions. She scored 280.58 points on 1 meter and 278.63 points on 3 meter.
Clarion's next competition will be Oct. at Carnegie Mellon on Oct. 31. The Clarion diving invitational is Oct. 24 & 25.
