(Clarion, Pa.): The Clarion University Women's Volleyball team defeated Slippery Rock 3-0 Friday night at Tippin Gymnasium. The Golden Eagles were led by
Taylor Braunagel with 9 kills, Kaley Pittsely with 35 assists and 10 digs, and
Morgan Seybold with 25 digs.
With the win Clarion improves to 16-12 on the season and 12-4 in the PSAC-West, while Slippery Rock falls to 10-19 for the year and 3-13 in the West.
In the first set Clarion started strong and won the set by a score of 25-18.
In the second set, the Golden Eagles jumped out of the gates to a lead of 14-2 and this was led by strong serving from Pittsley and
Catherine Ferragonio.
The third set was more of the same for the Golden Eagles. They were able to clinch the match by winning the third set 25-11.
Clarion had key contributions from
Marissa Robertson who had 8 kills and 6 digs,
Gabrielle Olson added 7 kills and 3 blocks,
Abbey Cox contributed with 6 kills and 4 blocks, and
Mackenzie Biggs chipped in with 6 kills. Also for the Golden Eagles Ferragonio added 8 digs.
The Golden Eagles return home Saturday October 31
st to take on Edinboro. Match time is 1pm.
