QUAD RESULTS (Pittsburgh, Pa.): Clarion's
Alexis Lopez, Christina Sather and Caitlyn Kaufman posted wins on Saturday to lead the Golden Eagles women's swimming and diving to a 1-2 record at the CMU Quad meet.
Clarion defeated Gannon 146-143 and lost to Case Western 158-140 and to CMU 202 – 96 which evened their season record at 2-2.
In the pool,
Alexis Lopez won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:08.44),
Rebecca Yonek finished second in the 1000 free (11:04.20), second in the 200 free (2:01.64) and third in the 500 free (5:29.03) and
Emily Ondrizek finished third in the 50 free (24.76) and third in the 100 fly (1:00.60).
Raena Valli also placed third in the 200 fly (2:18.13) and the 200 free relay team of
Lopez, Kelsey Burke, Katie Querciagrossa and
Ondrizek were third with a time of 1:41.28
The Clarion diving contingent received winning performances from
Christina Sather and
Caitlyn Kaufman. Sather won the 1 meter with 226.30 points, while she also second on 3 meter with 211.50 points. Kaufman won 3 meter with 217.65 points and also finished third on 1 meter with 218.95 points.
Noelle Melani was second on 1 meter (220.35).
The Golden Eagles visit Shippensburg next Saturday at 1pm.
