CLARION WRESTLERS HOST #28 EDINBORO FRIDAY
              
            The Clarion wrestling team opens its home dual meet schedule on Friday, November 20th when the Golden Eagles host #28 Edinboro at Waldo S. Tippin Gym. Match time is 7pm.
 
            The Clarion – Edinboro match will be available on C-93 (WCCR-FM – 92.7) for listeners in Clarion and on the internet on Redzonemdia.com with Rich Herman, Bob Bubb and John Stroup calling the action.
 
Clarion, under second year head coach Keith Ferraro, enters the dual with a 2-3 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the EWL. Clarion opened the season at the EMU duals and went 1-3 there, losing to Eastern Michigan (28-12) and Northern Illinois (34-11), defeating Michigan State 19-12 and then losing to Illinois (34-6). On Sunday clarion traveled to Bloomsburg and defeated the Huskies 24-19.
 
Clarion's lineup will likely have Patrick DeWitt (4-5) at 125, Michael Bartolo (4-5) at 133, Brock Zacherl (9-1) at 141, Jacob Keller (5-5) or Brodie Zacherl (8-11) at 149, Morgan Way (0-2) at 157, Evan DeLong (9-1) at 165, Michael Pavasko (5-4) at 174, Dominic Rigous (6-5) at 184, Dustin Conti (3-7) at 197 and Evan Daley (8-4) or Zach DeLuca (2-0) at 285.
 
Edinboro is led by 18th year head coach Tim Flynn. The Fighting Scots are 2-1 on the season and also traveled to Eastern Michigan for the opening duals. Edinboro defeated Olivet 46-3 and Northern Illinois 19-12, while losing to Ohio University 22-12.
 
The Scots lineup will likely have #20 Sean Russell (6-1) at 125, Tony Rocco (1-5) at 133, Tyler Vath (6-4) or Nate Hagan (8-5) at 141, Patricio Lugo (8-0) at 149, #19 Casey Fuller (8-0) at 165, Patrick Jennings (5-2) at 174, Chris Laird (2-6) at 184, Vince Pickett (5-3) at 197 and Billy Miller (7-0) at 285. #2 ranked Vic Avery at 184 and #6 Austin Matthews are injured and not expected to wrestle.
 
            CLARION NOTES: Clarion leads the series history against Edinboro by a margin of 32-25 – but Edinboro leads the EWL series 20-6… Edinboro won last year (32-6) and two years ago 40-3, and in December of 2012 by a 28-12 and in 2011 37-12 … Clarion last won 25-21 in December of 2010 … at Fort LeBoeuf High School.
