(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion outscored the Lady Wolves 24-12 in the third quarter, erasing a 37-32 halftime deficit, as the Golden Eagles went on to win their first game of the season defeating Cheyney 71-65 in a PSAC contest on Saturday afternoon at Tippin Gym. 
                The Golden Eagles raised their record to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC-West, while Cheyney dropped to 0-2 overall and in the PSAC-East. 
                Clarion was led in the game by 
Delrika Jones-Carey who posted 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal, while 
Tyra Polite had 16 points, with 
Jen Straw contributing 9 points and 6 boards and 
Jordan Bekelja 4 assists. 
                In the pivotal third quarter, 
Stevie Ray made two free throws and hit a jumper at 4:27 to tie the game at 44. 
Amesha Harden-Pulliam gave the Eagles the lead for good, 47-44, with a long range three pointer at 3:01, then two free throws by 
Nicole Maxson at 2:15 extended the lead to 49-44. A three pointer from 
Tania Holmes and a lay-up from 
Jones-Carey at 1:03 finished the run, giving Clarion a 54-44 advantage and the Eagles never looked back. 
                Clarion returns to Tippin Gym on Sunday afternoon at 1pm to host Millersville in another
PSAC contest.
