POLITE/BEKELJA LEAD EAGLES PAST MU 63-56

                (CLARION, PA.): Tyra Polite's three-point play with 2:42 to play gave Clarion the lead for good, 57-55, and Jordan Bekelja was four for four from the free throw line in the final 23-seconds, as the Golden Eagles pulled away from Millersville late and defeated the Marauders 63-56 on Sunday afternoon at Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium.
 
                Clarion raised its overall record to 2-3 and 2-1 in the PSAC-West, while Millersville dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC-East. Clarion will host Walsh at Tippin Gym on Tuesday at 5:30pm.
 
                Clarion jumped out to a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Marauders came back to tie the score 29-29 at halftime.
 
                In an exciting third quarter the lead changed four times, but Clarion's Delrika Jones- Carey posted a lay-up at 1:10 that helped the Eagles to a 45-43 lead at the end of three quarters.
 
                In the fourth quarter Polite's natural three-point play gave Clarion a 57-55 lead with 2:42 left in the game. Millersville's Yasmin Cooper made one free throw to cut the lead to 57-56 at 2:35, but Nicole Maxson's lay-up at 1:40 boosted the lead to three at 59-56. Jordan Bekelja then made two free throws with 23-seconds left, and again with 15-seconds remaining to ice the game.
 
                Polite led the Eagles with 17 points and 5 rebounds, while Bekelja had 12 tallies. Delrika Jones-Carey contributed 9 points and 12 rebounds, with Jen Straw and Stevie Ray dropping in 8 apiece.
 
                Millersville's Shelby Reimer had 12 points and Aunjel Van Brakle added 11.
