Taylor Braunagel had 11 kills,
Kaley Pittsley had 33 set assists, and
Morgan Seybold had 19 digs to lead the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 victoryover IUP Tuesday night at Tippin Gym.
With the victory the Golden Eagles improved to 17-13 for the season and 13-5 in the PSAC-West, while with the loss IUP fell to 16-12 on the year and 8-10 in the Western Division. Clarion is tied with Gannon for second place in the West with identical 13-5 records. Gannon defeated Mercyhurst 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Clarion started off strong by winning the first set of the match 25-19. The Golden Eagles stayed hot as they won the second set by the same score of 25-19. In the third and final set of the match the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 17-6 lead and did not look back as the Clarion was able to clinch the final set of the match 25-17.Â
The Golden Eagles got key contributions from
Marissa Robertson with 9 kills,
Abbey Cox who added 7 kills and 4 blocsk,
Mackenzie Biggs with 6 kills and 4 blocsk, and
Gabrielle Olson added 5 blocks. Also for Clarion
Morgan Herold chipped in with 8 digs.
The Golden Eagles return home Friday night to take on Seton Hill at 7pm.Â
