CLARION, Pa. – The honors continue to roll in for the Clarion volleyball team as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today that senior libero Morgan Seybold and junior setter Kaley Pittsley were named CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-Americans.
Seybold concluded a stellar four-year career at libero for the Golden Eagles with another excellent campaign in 2015, totaling 772 digs and averaging 5.76 digs per set as Clarion reached the second round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. Her 2,471 career digs make her one of just four players in program history to top 2,000 career digs and ranks third in the program annals.
She was named to the Atlantic Regional All-Tournament team after averaging a team-best 4.29 digs per set over the course of two matches, totaling 30 digs in seven sets. Opponents hit just .208 against Clarion in two matches, and the Golden Eagles averaged 16.86 digs per set over the weekend. Seybold currently owns a 3.89 GPA in Rehab Science.
Pittsley became the Golden Eagles' setter full-time in 2015 and turned out to be a spark for the offense, leading the PSAC in total assists (1,452) and assists per set (10.52). She added 10 Assist-Dig double-doubles in 2015, including a 26-assist, 11-dig performance against Wheeling Jesuit in the season finale at the NCAA Tournament. She maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Marketing / Management major.
