#7 COWBOYS DEFEAT EAGLES 46-0

#7 OKLAHOMA STATE WRESTLERS DROP CLARION 46-0
 
                (Stillwater, Oklahoma): #7 ranked Oklahoma State won all 10 bouts on Friday night leading the Cowboys to a 46-0 win over Clarion in NCAA Division I Wrestling at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
 
                Clarion finishes its dual meet season with a 1-16 overall record, while Oklahoma State raises its record to 9-3.
 
                Clarion's top bouts came at 174, 157 and 197. At 174 Michael Pavasko (Jr. Munhall/Steel Valley) lost a narrow 9-5 decision to #11 ranked Kyle Crutchmer. Crutchmer led 5-2 after two periods, but Pavasko chose down to start the third and gained a penalty point and an escape to pull within 5-4. Pavasko took a good offensive shot to try and take the lead, but was countered by Crutchmer for a crucial takedown late in the bout to take a 7-4 lead and eventually a 9-5 decision. Pavasko has a season record of 19-12.
 
                Evan DeLong (Fr. Kane) also wrestled a competitive match at 157 against #18 ranked Anthony Collica before losing 14-5. There was no score after the first period, while Collica scored an escape and a takedown in the second for a 3-0 lead. DeLong escaped in the third, but Collica strung together five takedowns late for his 14-5 win.
 
                Ryan Darch (Sr. Batavia, N.Y.) lost a 13-6 decision to Luke Bean at 197. Bean led only 2-1 after one period and 6-3 early in the third, but Darch, who had several good offensive shots, was countered for takedowns in the third for the loss. He is now 14-14 on the season.
 
                Oklahoma State's defending national champion and #1 ranked Alex Dieringer at 165 pinned Slade Horner at 4:26, while #8 ranked Eddie Klimara won a 16-1 technical fall over Hunter Jones at 125, #4 Josh Kindig won by technical fall (22-5) over Brodie Zacherl at 149 and #5 Austin Marsden won by fall over Joshua Davis at 1:30 at 285-pounds.
 
                The dual was the final dual meet of the season for Clarion who finishes at 1-16 overall and will next wrestle on March 7 in the EWL Championships which will be hosted by Rider.
 
                Oklahoma State will host Penn State on Sunday.
