CLARION RALLIES IN THE SECOND HALF TO TIE MERCYHURST
(Clarion, PA) – The Clarion Golden Eagles soccer club notched their first tie of the season following a physical double overtime match with the Mercyhurst Lakers, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to forge a 2-2 tie.
Brieann Cook tied the game with only 1:13 left in regulation.
After tonight the Golden Eagles have a record of (1-3-1) and the Mercyhurst Lakers leave Memorial Stadium with the record of (1-2-2)
In the first half Merceyhurst's Kristina Roberti jumped the Lakers ahead with two goals, the first at 7:12 and the second at 40:50 which was assisted by Fawn Mulholland.

Krista Mosi tallied up 11 total saves, and shut the door with 6 saves in the second half and 2 in overtime.
On offense for the Golden Eagles it was
Aaliyah Odom who struck first with a goal at 58:45 from 8 yards out, she was assisted by
Marina Kelly. Then with 1:13 left in regulation
Brieann Cook fired in the tying goal that sent the Golden Eagles into overtime.
Mosi made two saves in the first overtime, but neither team managed a shot on goal in the second overtime and the contest ended at 2-2.
The Clarion Golden Eagles soccer club will be back in action on September 19
th at Millersville University with a 2 pm start time.
