CLARION VB WINS THIRD STRAIGHT – DEFEATS DAEMEN 3-0 (ALBANY, N.Y.): The Clarion women's volleyball team won its third straight match, led by 13 kills and 8 digs from
Marissa Robertson and 30 assists from
Kaley Pittsley, defeating Daemen 3-0 in Albany, N.Y. on Saturday morning.
The Golden Eagles won in three straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-16.
In the first set Clarion went out to an 18-11 lead on 3 kills from Robertson and 2
by Taylor Braunagel. Daemen came back to within 24-21, but
Taylor Braunagel's kill on an assist from
Kaley Pittsley secured the 25-21 win.
In set two Clarion had a 19-14 lead, but Daemen fought back to close the gap to 24-22. Pittsley this time set up
Marissa Robertson for the set winner 25-22.
Clarion dominated the third set running out to a 17-8 lead before winning 25-16.
Robertson had a strong day with 13 kills and 8 digs, while
Taylor Braunagel and
Mackenzie Biggs both collected 9 kills each.
Kaley Pittsley had 30 assists and 4 digs, while
Morgan Seybold had 12 digs and 3 service aces, and
Catherine Ferragonio collected 10 digs to lead the way.
Clarion has now won three straight matches and returns to action on Friday at the PSAC crossovers hosted by Seton Hill. Clarion plays Cheyney at 2pm and West Chester at 5pm.
