ATHENS, Ohio - The Clarion wrestling team struggled on the road on Saturday, falling in a 40-4 decision to the Ohio Bobcats at the Convocation Center on Saturday. Â With the loss the Golden Eagles fall to 4-8 overall on the season.
Zack DeLuca claimed the lone win of the day for the Golden Eagles, earning a major decision over Jesse Webb in the heavyweight match. Â DeLuca worked Webb for a 10-1 score in the match to pick up four points for Clarion in the penultimate bout of the match.
The Bobcats were in control of the remaining matches on the docket, though, earning all but one of the remaining bouts either by fall or major decision. Â
Michael Pavasko was able to keep his match the closest, taking on Cody Walters at 174. Â Walters eventually defeated Pavasko 9-4 for a three-point decision.
