CLARION, Pa. - Despite a furious comeback in the second half of the meet, the Clarion Women's Swimming and Diving team was narrowly edged by Edinboro 110-108 at Tippin Natatorium Saturday afternoon. The Eagles will return to action next weekend when they host the CU Diving Invitational.
The Scots got the better of the Golden Eagles through the first half of competition Saturday, taking first place in the 200 yard medley relay, 200 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle, 200 yard IM and 100 yard butterfly. Though Clarion managed to snag a handful of second and third place finishes from the likes of Becca Yonek,

Things began to turn Clarion's way in the back half of the meet, however. Sparked by a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle by
Letizia Collini, the Golden Eagles went on a run of their own. Summer Dacheaux and Katherine Querciagrossa took first and second in the 100 yard backstroke, while Yonek added another first-place finish in the 500 yard freestyle.
Clarion's diving squad also managed an impressive showing, sweeping both the one meter and three meter diving competitions.
Kait Nedrow took first in the one meter and second in the three, with
Christina Sather and
Emma Kehn each managing second and third-place finishes.
However, the comeback would not be enough, as the women's team would eventually fall to Edinboro, just narrowley failing to complete an epic comeback.
