WOMEN'S SWIMMING IN SEVENTH AT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

RESULTS

YORK, Pa. – The Clarion women's swimming team wrapped up its first day of competition at the 2016 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship in seventh place, totaling 51 points at the York YMCA Aquatic Center on Thursday.  The team will resume competition on Friday.
 
Emily Ondrizek and Alexis Lopez earned the lion's share of points in the individual events with a strong performance in the 50 Free, finishing back-to-back in the event with top-10 finishes.  Ondrizek took sixth with a time of 23.90, just fractions of a second behind fifth-place Morgan Lydic of Gannon, while Lopez finished just behind Ondrizek with a time of 24.22.  They combined for 25 individual points on Thursday.
 
The rest of the points came from the 200 Medley Relay team of Summer Dacheux, Lopez, Ondrizek and Becca Yonek, who took sixth for a total of 26 points on the afternoon.  The Golden Eagles edged out Shippensburg by 0.13 seconds for the sixth-place finish, taking it with a time of 1:48.20.
