EDINBORO, Pa. –
Jessica Shomo broke her own record in the 60m Dash and claimed two more victories in the field as the Clarion women's track team emerged victorious in a number of events on the afternoon to win the 2016 Edinboro Open on Friday.
Shomo became the first woman in Clarion history to finish the 60m in under eight seconds, notching a time of 7.98 to pace the field at the Open. Her closest challenger was the Fighting Scots' Terionna Ware, who finished in a time of 8.04.
She wasn't done, however, as Shomo also claimed victory in the Long Jump that afternoon. She recorded the second-longest leap of her career, clearing a mark of 5.27m to blow out the field. The closest competitor was Seton Hill's Gabrielle Ravotto, who notched a 5.13m jump.
Kristen Belko added her second-best jump of the year as well, taking third in the event with a distance of 5.10m.
Belko had more to show, though, as she won the High Jump with an impressive leap that ranked among the program's best. She came up just short of her own program record, recording a jump of 1.63m. Teammate
Lauryn Greggs set a new season-high with a jump of 1.57m.
Belko also had a strong day on the track, taking second in the 60m Hurdles with one of the top five performances in program history. Belko finished the race in 9.28 seconds, which now gives her three of the top-four performances in the event in school history.

McKayla Hoover, who took first in the 400m with a time of 1:03.68. She was followed in succession by
