Game Recap: Soccer |

Soccer falls at home to Millersville, 1-0

CLARION, Pa:  An early goal by Millersville's Kay Liebl was the difference in the game as the visiting Marauders scored a 1-0 road victory over the Clarion Golden Eagles Saturday night.

Returning home to Memorial Stadium for the first time since October 4th, the Golden Eagles fell behind early when Liebl took a ball at the top of the box and beat Clarion keeper Krista Mosi to the top left corner.

The Clarion defense tightened up and kept the Marauders off the scoreboard, allowing the offense a chance to strike.

The best chance for the Golden Eagles came in the second half, when senior McKenzie Sheesley fired a shot from about 25 yards out that rang off the crossbar, nearly going in.

Unfortunately, for Clarion, the equalizer would not happen and they ultimately fell by a 1-0 score.

The Golden Eagles will drop to 6-6-4 on the season and 5-5-4 in the PSAC with two games remaining on the season.

Clarion will travel to Greensburg, PA this Wednesday (Oct 25) for a 3pm contest against Seton Hill.

The final game of the regular season will be next Saturday at home against East Stroudsburg at 7pm.  Prior to the game, Clarion will recognize their senior class.
