KUTZTOWN, Pa – After falling behind early, the visiting Clarion Golden Eagles women's volleyball team stormed back, winning three consecutive sets to capture a victory over Kutztown University (23-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-17).
Clarion improves to 10-3 on the season and starts PSAC play 1-0 while Kutztown drops to 0-1 in the league and 5-8 overall.
The trio of
Lauryn Driscoll (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell),
Julia Holden (Brunswick, Ohio, Brunswick) and
Taylor Braunagel (Milford, Pa., Delaware Valley) powered the Clarion attack on offense, each recording double digit kills. Driscoll had a game high 16 kills while Holden and Braunagel had 14 apiece.
Christina Cotton (Fairview Park, Ohio, Magnificat) chipped in on offense, serving up three aces while
Leah Vensel (Erie, Pa., McDowell) set the attack with 51 assists.
The Golden Eagles also played great team defense, with a trio of players registering double digit digs.

Catherine Ferragonio (Irwin, Pa., Norwin) led all players with 26 digs, while Braunagel and Vensel chipped in with 17 and 14 digs, respectively.
Olivia Olson (Gibsonia, Pa., Pine-Richland) led all players with 4 blocks on the night.
Coach Herron's squad will look to improve to 2-0 in the PSAC tomorrow (Sept 23) when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 12pm contest. The Warriors dropped their PSAC opener Friday night, getting swept 3-0 by Indiana University of PA.
