WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Clarion women's tennis team faced a difficult challenge on the road on Tuesday, falling by an 8-1 score to West Chester. The Golden Eagles (1-1) will be back in action right away, as they take on Shippensburg tomorrow in a road match.

The Golden Eagles took one of the three doubles matches on the court, with the duo of
Katie Benson and
Bailey White earning a hard-fought win over Gracyn Towler and Julia Mowrey. Benson and White held on for an 8-4 decision in the No. 2 doubles match.

Singles action went the way of the Golden Rams as well, though two Clarion players were able to force decisive third sets.Â
Maria Snyder forced Leandra Roelker to a third set thanks to a 6-4 win in the second, and just narrowly fell by a 10-8 score in the super tiebreaker.Â
Hailey Germanoski's third set with Towler was a full one, though, with Germanoski winning the first set 6-3 and Towler the second 6-2 while the match was not yet decided. Towler held on for a 6-3 win in the third.
