CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion University men's basketball team fell 85-68 at home to California (Pa.) Wednesday evening.
The Golden Eagles fell behind early, as the Vulcans jumped out to a 21-7 lead to start the game.
Clarion struggled from the floor in the first half, along with some untimely turnovers that helped California build a 42-27 half-time lead.
Led by
Cameron Grumley, the Golden Eagles fared much better in the second half, as the Vulcans narrowly edged them in points, 43-41.
Grumley finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds playing in 38 minutes.
Brandon Williams added 12 points for Clarion while
Khari Williams chipped in with 8.
As a team, the Golden Eagles shot 49% from the floor in the second half, compared to 48% for the Vulcans.
Clarion also held a 41-37 edge in rebounds on the night.
The Golden Eagles will be back on the court Saturday when they host Seton Hill University at 3:00pm in Tippin Gymnasium.
