EDINBORO, Pa. – The Clarion women's swimming team held off a late push from Edinboro for a dual win on Friday, with the Golden Eagles defeating the Fighting Scots 107-98.  Clarion (4-2, 4-1 PSAC) will be back in action tomorrow at the Western PA Invitational hosted by Pittsburgh.
 
The 200 Medley Relay team of Summer Dacheux, Alexis Lopez, Abbigale Newman and Letizia Collini opened the scoring with a win, beating Edinboro's "A" quartet by more than a full second for an 11-point start of the night.  Mary Clare Smith and Kelly Harvey followed that up with a 1-2 finish in the 1000 Free, with Smith blowing away the field with a 10:53.50 and Harvey gaining a quarter-second edge for second place.  Becca Yonek and Collini turned the same trick in the 200 Free as Clarion took an early 38-17 lead.
 
Clarion went without a win for several events before Dacheux broke through in the 200 Back, building a four-second margin of victory with a time of 2:11.46 for the win.  Ava Arnold followed her in second place, recording a time of 2:15.90.  Yonek and Smith went 1-2 in the 500 Free to essentially clinch the win as the Golden Eagles fended off the Fighting Scots.
