COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Clarion women's basketball team faced their first outside test of the season with the ninth-ranked team in Division I basketball, falling 127-41 to Maryland on Friday night. The Golden Eagles will play their first regular season game next Saturday when they take on Ohio Valley.

The Terrapins enter the season as one of the top teams in the country in Division I, and they looked the part as they controlled the action against the Golden Eagles.Â
Yndiah Bobo was Clarion's leading scorer, finishing with 13 points, while
Morgan Dombroski added 10 points, two rebounds and two assists in her collegiate debut.Â
Kadijah Dickson had a team-high six rebounds – five on the offensive glass – while
Haille Hart and
Taylor Moltz each scored six points.

Maryland opened up a 33-7 lead in the first quarter and did not relent, though the Golden Eagles found some of their offensive footing by the third quarter. Dombroski knocked down a trio of three-pointers in the third quarter, converting passes from Dickson and
Neely Whitehead into assists on two of those buckets.

In the fourth quarter,
Yasmin Lewis opened the period with a jumper, and Bobo later added a layup.Â
Emily Hegedus closed out the scoring for Clarion with a pair of free throw makes with under a minute remaining, setting the final deficit at 127-41.
