LEESBURG, Fla. – The Clarion softball team continued its week in the Sunshine State on Monday, falling by a score of 14-3 to St. Cloud State and 16-1 to Bemidji State at the PFX Spring Games. The Golden Eagles (2-10) are currently slated to face Kutzdown in a doubleheader on Thursday.

Jessica Cartia packed some pop in her bat in the second game of the day, going 2-for-2 with a solo home run in the second inning. That blast cut Bemidji State's lead to 2-1, but the Beavers rallied back with nine runs in the second inning to take the decision from the Golden Eagles.Â
Rebecca Kelley (1-4) took the loss in the nightcap.

Cartia also drove in the first run of the game against St. Cloud State earlier in the day. In the bottom of the second inning,
Moriah Lynn led off by reaching on an error, and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Haley Pszyk. Cartia gave the ball a ride with one out, bringing Lynn around from second for the score.

Lynn scored again later in the game against St. Cloud State, coming across on a wild pitch, and Kelley hit an RBI single in the fourth inning that scored Cartia to make it 13-3.Â
Sarah Gossard (1-4) suffered the loss for Clarion.
