SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg scored off of a free kick with just over nine minutes remaining to break a scoreless tie and lift the Raiders to a 1-0 victory over Clarion in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Shippensburg's Izzy Weigel finished off a free kick by KK O'Donnell and was able to beat Clarion goalkeeper

The Golden Eagles recorded 10 shots in the first half, and finished with 13 on the afternoon while the Raiders finished with 14 total shots, nine of those coming in the second half.
Stermel played all 90 minutes in net, collecting six saves on the afternoon. Clarion recorded eight shots on goal, led by
Meliah Roman with two.
The Golden Eagles will have a mid-week road contest on Tuesday (Sep 18) when they travel to Ursuline College for a 3:30pm contest.
