PEPPER PIKE, Ohio –
Meliah Roman scored with less than six minutes remaining to propel Clarion its first win of the season, boosting the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 victory at Ursuline on Tuesday afternoon. Clarion (1-6, 0-6 PSAC) will return to conference action this weekend when they host IUP at Memorial Stadium.

The junior from northeast Ohio broke a deadlock that dragged on for more than 41 minutes and the entirety of the second half.Â
Veronika Noyszewski had just subbed into the game and sprung the play into action, sending a pass to Roman that the later buried for her first goal of the season to make it a 2-1 victory.

The Arrows made one more run at tying the score, earning a corner kick in the 87
th minute. Anya Miller's header was blocked in front of the net but Megan Rafac had another crack at it, with keeper
Krista Mosi stopping the attempt to seal the win.

Mackenzie Sheldon got things going in the first half when she scored her second goal of the campaign, putting Clarion ahead 1-0 in the 37
th minute. The Arrows responded in the 44
th minute, tying the score at 1-1 on a goal by Dominique Buddenhagen.

Ursulline outshot Clarion 12-9 in balls on net, with Clarion goalkeepers making 11 saves. Mosi earned the win with 45 shutout minutes in the second half.
