CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion women's soccer team hung tough with #8 ranked West Chester, falling by a 1-0 score on a rain soaked Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
West Chester's Julia Kirkpatrick scored on a perfectly placed free-kick from the top of the box in the 6
th minute to put the Golden Rams ahead 1-0. That would be the lone goal on the day for either side.
Both teams battled through tough weather conditions the entire game. Shots were even at seven a piece, with each team putting three shots on goal.
The two teams were also even in corner kicks with two apiece.
Krista Mosi got the start in net for Clarion, making a pair of saves on the afternoon.
The Golden Eagles will be back home on Wednesday when they host Slippery Rock University at 7pm from Memorial Stadium.
