Women's Hoops Defeated at Gannon

ERIE, Pa. – The Clarion women's basketball team led at halftime but was unable to put away Gannon in the second half, as the Golden Eagles fell 62-53 to the Golden Knights in Erie on Monday afternoon.  Clarion (7-10, 1-9 PSAC) will see action twice more this week, starting with a Wednesday night clash against Edinboro.
 
Kadijah Dickson posted her fifth double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and pulling down a game-high 12 boards against the Golden Knights.  Dickson leads Clarion with averages of 16.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, the latter of which ranks sixth in the PSAC to date.  Yndiah Bobo tied for the game-high with 17 points while also contributing five steals and four assists. 
 
The Golden Eagles opened the game on a 4-0 run, with Lewis and Dickson scoring in the paint in the first minute of action.  Gannon responded with a 10-2 run to build up a four-point lead, but Dickson pulled the Golden Eagles back within a point at the 3:06 mark.  Bobo followed that with a make in the paint, and the sophomore guard scored against with five seconds left in the first quarter to make it a 15-12 advantage.
 
Lewis bumped the advantage to five points at the 8:10 mark of the second quarter, making it 17-12, but again the Golden Knights took the lead due to a big run.  Taylor Moltz put Clarion back ahead, making a three-pointer at the 1:54 mark to make it 21-20.  Imani Dockery followed with a bucket, and the Golden Eagles ultimately led 23-22 at halftime.
 
Things went the way of the Golden Knights in the third quarter, with Gannon outscoring Clarion 20-16 to take a three-point lead at the end of the period.  The Golden Eagles kept it within a single possession for most of the fourth quarter, trailing just 46-45 with 5:27 left to go in regulation.  Gannon went on a 9-3 run to gain separation, and eventually finished with a nine-point advantage.
