MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Clarion men's swimming & diving team picked up its first win of the 2019 season, defeating Allegheny 170-130 in Meadville on Friday night. The Golden Eagles will next be in action on October 25 when they head to Gannon to take on the Golden Knights.

The Golden Eagles won the first event on Friday with the "A" Squad of
Corey Mock,
Josh Thruston,
Connor Cary and
Jacob Yant finishing first with a time of 1:38.83. Â The Gators won the next two events, but Cary responded with a win in the 200 Free to put the Golden Eagles back on track. Mock and
Jimmy Connor went 1-2 in the 100 Backstroke to give the Blue and Gold 13 team points. Thruston and
Dylan Griffith followed that up with a 1-2 finish of their own in the 100 Breaststroke with times of 1:00.49 and 1:05.10 respectively.

The streak continued in the 100 Free, with Thruston pacing the field with a time of 47.94. Connor rounded out the streak of wins with a victory in the 100 Fly, finishing in 52.76 to lead the pack.

The 200 Free Relay team of Thruston,
Tate Swanson,
Ty Rabenstein and Yant rounded out the swimming events with a win, with Yant touching the wall at 1:29.95 to give the Golden Eagles the win. Â

Andrew Cestra won both events in the diving portion with final scores of 268.20 in the 1M Dive and 234.67 in the 3M Dive.
