The Golden Eagles got the scoring started early in the top of the first after a
Nick Fugh single score
Alex Ficorilli who was hit by a pitch then stole second base. Clarion picked up its second run of the game when
Dillon Wolbert singled to left field scoring Fugh who stole second and advanced to third on a
Bryce Jackson fly out making the score 2-0 Clarion.
Penn State would answer back in the bottom half of the inning when an error by Ficorilli allowed a run to cross the plate. The Nittany Lions tied things up on the very next pitch as a wild pitch allowed another run to score.
The score would remain deadlocked until the top of the third inning when Ficorilli doubled and advanced to third on a Fugh single. A SAC fly from Jackson to center field allowed Ficorilli to tag up and give the Blue and Gold the lead back for good, making it 3-2.
Clarion tacked on four more runs in the top of the fifth inning, giving them a commanding lead. Freshman
Dan Fox singled scoring Fugh who reached on an infield single to short and advanced to second after a Jackson walk. Wolbert cleared the bases in the next at bat doubling to left center field scoring both Fox and Jackson. Senior shortstop

Dubois made it close in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring two runs and one more run in the bottom of the eighth to pull them within just two runs at 7-5. Clarion closed the door on any comeback thoughts in the top of the ninth plating two more runs courtesy of a
Will Constantin double that scored
Ben Barth and Wolbert who singled and walked to get on base.
