CLARION, Pa. – On Senior Night, the Clarion men's swimming team won its final dual meet of the season, sinking the Edinboro Fighting Scots by a final score of 166-120 on Friday. The Golden Eagles (3-3, 2-3 PSAC) will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at the Western PA Invite hosted by the University of Pittsburgh.
The 200 Medley Relay of Corey Mock, Josh Thruston, Connor Cary and Jacob Yant picked up the first points of the night for the Golden Eagles, placing second with a final time of 1:36.91.
Ty Rabenstein picked up the first victory of the night in the 1000 Free, pacing the field with a 10:10.50 finish for nine team points. Cary kept the ball rolling finishing the 200 Free with a first place finish and a final time of 1:47.13. Cary followed that up with a first place finish in the 200 Fly pacing the field with a time of 2:01.19. Thruston picked up his first individual win of the night in the 200 Breaststroke touching the wall in a final time of 28.72, four seconds faster than the rest of the field he paired that going with a win in the 100 Free, winning the sprint with a time of 47.39.
Rabenstein extended the Golden Eagle lead with a first place finish place finish in the 500 Free, finishing with a final time of 4:57.43 for nine team points. Cary had a strong performance in the 200 IM taking home a first place finish with a final time of 2:00.42.
To round out the night the 200 Free Relay team of Drew Canter, Rabenstein, Tate Swanson and Yant took home a second place finish, finishing with a final time of 1:30.65.
In the diving portion, Jordan Morret took first in both events, scoring a 274.62 in the 3M Dive and a 251.00 in the 1M Dive.
