INDIANA, Pa. - Hitting the road for a PSAC dual meet on Saturday afternoon, the Clarion women's swimming team fell to the hosting IUP Crimson Hawks by a final score of 167-76.
Looking to bounce back from the loss, the Golden Eagles will return to action on Saturday, January 22nd when they head to the Pidgeon Memorial Invitational in Carlisle, Pa.
"We had a tough meet, as IUP has a strong lineup," said head coach Bree Kelley. "Although we didn't pick up a win, we still swam some very good in-season times."
To start the afternoon, the 200 medley relay team of Stephanie Setar, Sydney Davidson, Autumn Fortney and Hannah Greenway started the scoring for Clarion with a second place finish, touching the wall with a final time of 1:49.86.
Jordan Kutchak followed that up with a second place finish in the 200 Free racing to a 2:00.43 finish.
Following suit, Greenway picked up a second place finish of her own in the 50 Free with a final time of 24.69.
Just a few events later, Fortney grabbed a second place finish in the 100 Fly, touching the wall with a final mark of 1:00.02.
Setar finished second in the 100 Back, racing to a 1:01.32 finish, while Sarah Murray took home second place in the 500 Free with a final time of 5:31.14.
The 200 Free Relay team of Fortney, Haley Miller, Corina Paszek and Greenway finished the day with a second place finish touching the wall with a final mark of 1:42.83.
In the diving events, Sadie Coda finished second in the 3M Dive, finishing with a final score of 218.70, while Anna Vogt finished third with a tally of 217.20. In the 1M Dive, Liz Brand, Coda and Vogt went one, two, three to round out the afternoon.
