SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Golden Eagle tennis team took on their second straight PSAC West opponent on the road on Wednesday, falling by a 7-0 score to Slippery Rock. Clarion battled with who figures to be one of the top teams in the West division but could not pull off the upset.
In the doubles session, the pairing of Alexis Strouse and Savannah Buttery took on Lois Page and Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez in the No. 1 doubles match. They took a pair of games from them but fell behind in the set, dropping a 6-2 decision. The Rock also took the No. 2 doubles match in clinching the doubles point.
Slippery Rock took control in the singles session as well, taking the five matches contested to clinch the 7-0 decision. Buttery and Charlie Allison took games in their respective matches, with Buttery falling 6-0, 6-1 to Gonzalez Sanchez in the No. 2 singles match. Allison, meanwhile, took a game from Teddi Isherwood in the No. 5 singles match but fell 6-0, 6-1.
