Women's Golf Enjoys Big Day in PSAC Champ Finale

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Golden Eagle women's golf team logged their best team round in more than six years on Sunday afternoon, putting an exciting punctuation mark on their three-day stay at the 2022 PSAC Women's Golf Championship. Clarion shot a team score of 365, their lowest team round since Gregg Fritz took over as head coach and one of the best in recent program history.

In addition to the success on the course, the PSAC announced at 5 p.m. that Sylvia Stibley was named the 2022 Champion Scholar in women's golf.

Taylor Galigher shot what turned out to be the best round any Golden Eagle recorded all weekend long, firing an 86 on the final day at Berkleigh Golf Club. That enabled Galigher to climb six spots on the overall leaderboard for the weekend, tying her for 28th in the field with a three-round score of 95-94-86-275.

Samantha Huth placed second on the team for the weekend by establishing great consistency in all three of her rounds, finishing within one stroke of herself in all three trips to the course. She matched her weekend low with a 93 on Sunday, giving her a 93-94-93-280 for the weekend. That tied Huth for 33rd in the field. Stibley continued her rebound from a difficult start to the tournament by shooting the second-lowest round of the day for the Golden Eagles, carding a 91 on Sunday for a three-day total of 284. Lauren McGrady also fired off her best round of the weekend, slicing nine strokes off Saturday's round for a 95 that ranked fourth on the team. She finished in 44th place, while Emily DeMartino took 46th with a final score of 328.
