Women's Golfers Climb Up the Board at Edwin Cottrell

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Golden Eagle women's golf team improved by a solid margin on their previous day's scores on Tuesday, making a leap score-wise and placing eighth in the field at the Edwin Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester. Clarion cut 11 team strokes off their first round score at Penn Oaks Golf Club.
 
Of the two players that made big leaps on the leaderboard, Sylvia Stibley was the one that finished the best in the overall field. Stibley sliced five strokes off her score from Monday, shooting a 91 to pace the Golden Eagles both for Tuesday as well as the tournament. She finished with a two-day score of 187 and tied for 18th in the field.
 
Taylor Galigher made a modest jump from Monday to Tuesday, cutting off two strokes and shooting a 94 to finish tied for 24th overall in the field. Samantha Huth made the biggest cut of the day, improving by six strokes to tie Galigher's score of 94 on Tuesday. McLain Alt rounded out Clarion's scoring with a 131 on Tuesday.
