BELLE VERNON, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's golf team followed up their best single-round performance in a decade with an even better showing on Monday, posting one of the best two-round scores in program history at the Vulcan Invitational hosted by California (Pa.)

Clarion shot a 343 in their opening round on Sunday, the team's best round since carding a 342 in September 2013 at their home invitational. The Golden Eagles matched that 342 mark on Monday, and in the process gave them one of the lowest scores in program history. Their two-day score of 685 was the best since the 2010 PSAC Championships, when the team – in just its second year of competition -- posted a score of 671.

The Golden Eagles finished eighth in the field at the Vulcan Invitational.

Freshman
Hannah Smith had the low round of the day for the Golden Eagles, shooting an 83 to finish tied for 24
th in the second 18 holes.
Sylvia Stibley finished just one stroke behind her on Monday with an 84, and the two tied with two-round scores of 169 for 24
th overall.
Samantha Huth was third on the team with an 85 on Monday, putting her in sole possession of 31
st place overall with a score of 171 (86-85).

McKayla Kerle rounded out the top-four for the weekend with a score of 90 on Monday, with
Hailee Liptak (92) and
McLain Alt (96) just behind her.
