WEST CHESTER, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's golf team kicked off their spring season at the Edwin Cottrell Invitational on Monday afternoon, clocking in at fourth in the field through 18 holes of action. Clarion shot a team score of 377 at Penn Oaks Golf Club.

Due to incoming inclement weather, tomorrow's action will be shortened to just nine holes, making this a 27-hole tournament.

Hannah Smith was the leader on the board for the Golden Eagles, ranking 10
th in the field with a big push down the back nine. After shooting bogey or double bogey on each of the first four holes, Smith settled in down the stretch, going over par on just five of the remaining 14 holes to shoot a team-best 85. She is just one stroke off eighth place entering action on Tuesday.

McKayla Kerle contributed to the team score with a score of 94, tying her for 21
st in the field with teammate
McLain Alt, who competed as an individual.
Sylvia Stibley and
Hailee Liptak rounded out the scoring for the Golden Eagles, shooting identical scores of 99.
Lauren McGrady filled out the round for Clarion by shooting a 106.
